I believe in the power of silence

Every writer must save their energy for when the time comes for them to write; for the writer, peace becomes a combination of certainty, action, and the beauty of silence rolled into our daily attempt to overcome all distractions and involved ourselves in the internal process of becoming. Time cannot be wasted explaining the reason for our insanity, all explanations and particulars of our troubles are meant for the page. Every idea needs time to incubate before being blurted out the mouth of aspiring writers onto ears unable to grasp the severity of our claim to freedom. The blessing to communicate is wasted with pointless conversations, and our ideas are losing their potency as we speak without reciprocity. Silence is the necessary tool to heal our spiritual suicide, giving our ideas, hopes, and fears to people that have no sense of value dampens our fire for transformation. Silence aids man becoming a nobleman or a king, through silence we allow ourselves to discover the meaning of our lives; we become acquainted with the sound of spirit, and follow its voice to freedom.

“I find it wholesome to be alone the greater part of the time. To be in company, even with the best, is soon wearisome and dissipating. I love to be alone.” — Walden

Worthy communion involves bringing together similar minds, not minds that think the same, but minds with a similar devotion; this communion is an inspiration renewal for the psyche. Acknowledging that we are never alone, our solitude becomes a responsibility, a duty, rather than a burden. Isolation is a spiritual precept allowing ourselves to revalue the world based on our internal functioning; through simplicity and vulnerability we become sojourners of our internal nature. We have placed value of the acquisition of the world rather than the improvement of our character; the values of external beauty have placed such a great distance between us and heaven on earth. We put all our faith in heaven being within the towers, castles, mansions, and cheap artistic portrayals of the human struggle, while celebrating apotheosized messengers, but never following through on the action required by their message. The process of unfolding — a process of patience, commitment, and isolation — is dependent on the aspects of our lives we give our attention; our ability to focus on ourselves and respond to the calamity or shifts in emotion is important.

“I am only interested in people engaged in a project of self-transformation.”
― Susan Sontag

We attempt, but always fail, to enclose the world within the tight parameters of our understanding; however, living is forever making sense out of nonsense. Life never ceases evolving, so our identities are constantly having to be remade and refined; while we attempt to cling to an outmoded identity, we are being internally required to refine our auditory sensibility through the practice of solitude. Our identities must embrace destruction and the time must be taken to become all over again, a spiritual rebirth. Life has little originality — we all share the same experiences. triumphs, defeats, delusions, illusions, and we all have been born and will die — but we can follow the tradition of the people that lived from the beat of their own drum. Our dedication to becoming serves to release the demons of gloom and despair, but they are forever sitting in the background waiting for us to slip. But no demon can compete against a man dedicated to becoming, ever obstacle is seen as a opportunity to move into a deeper relationship with the self.

“Through me you pass into the city of woe:
Through me you pass into eternal pain:
Through me among the people lost for aye.
Justice the founder of my fabric moved:
To rear me was the task of power divine,
Supremest wisdom, and primeval love.
Before me things create were none, save things
Eternal, and eternal I shall endure.
All hope abandon, ye who enter here.”
― Dante Alighieri

The artist must cease the conversation with ex lovers, dead situations, enemies, friends that take place in his head and peel back, if he has any, the sedimentation of resentment. We have to find ourselves with the silence of our lives; we cannot continue looking for acknowledgement in the eyes, lips, and ears of other people. Our goal is to become more connected to the world through a deeper connection to the self; our resentment will only deepen our ego and strengthen our divide. Living within ourselves will deepen our poetic faculty, and solitude will allow us to think for ourselves. Our beauty must grow from within our nobleness, truthfulness, and solitude.

Several Circles, Wassily Kandinsky 1926 canvas by the Russian artist is full of suggestions of the cosmos.
